Andrey Lunyov, the goalkeeper for Moscow’s Dynamo who previously played for Zenit, shared his thoughts on his team’s victory in the 29th round of the Russian Premier League against Krasnodar (2-1).
“Has anyone from your former team congratulated you yet?”
“To be honest, I haven’t checked yet. It was crucial for us to beat Krasnodar. We had a score to settle with them. Three days ago, they shattered our dream—the dream of many of our fans. And before that, they became champions in our match, preventing us from winning the title. It was a matter of honor and principle to defeat them at home. We haven’t scored enough against them. It was a matter of pride,” Lunyov said as quoted by Championat correspondent Nikolai Baranov.
Following this match, Moscow Dynamo sits in eighth place in the Russian Championship standings with 42 points. Krasnodar holds the second spot with 63 points, while Zenit leads the table with 65 points.
