Following the Los Angeles Lakers’ 4-0 sweep by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the playoffs, head coach JJ Redick was asked whether this might be his last time coaching LeBron James.
Redick responded, “I haven’t even thought about that. We’ll handle the offseason when it comes, which is the next two months.”
The Lakers, led by LeBron James, reached the second round of the playoffs this season but were unable to win a single game against the young and formidable Thunder, resulting in a sweep. As a first-year head coach, Redick’s working relationship with James has drawn significant attention.
With the Lakers now in offseason mode, decisions regarding roster adjustments and the coaching staff’s future are expected to become clearer in the coming weeks.
