San Diego Padres pitcher Yu Darvish, who is recovering from right elbow surgery, has resumed light catch ball sessions. The 39-year-old veteran shared a video on social media showing him throwing in front of his dog, with his fastball clocked at 106 kilometers per hour (approximately 66 mph).
“The condition of my elbow is good,” Darvish said in the post, providing a positive update on his rehabilitation. He underwent surgery last October and is expected to miss the entire 2025 season, currently placed on the restricted list.
Darvish’s return to throwing marks an important step in his recovery, and he continues to work toward a potential comeback. The Padres have not set a specific timeline for his return, but the early signs are encouraging.
