Blogger Roman Gabdrafikov has shared his prediction for the match between Lokomotiv and Ak Bars.
His bet: Lokomotiv wins at odds of 2.19.

“The Gagarin Cup Final is a showdown where you cannot simply compare rosters and move on. What matters most is which team imposes its game plan faster and withstands the first psychological blow of the series. Why betting on Kazan in this final is understandable – Ak Bars looks like the most progressive team in the playoffs, with insane efficiency and genuinely four lines capable of making a difference. They have skill, physicality, and the ability to win in various ways – from overtime to mature control.
However, I am deliberately going against the trend for Lokomotiv in the first game, as they often start series poorly. Simply because it cannot continue indefinitely. And because Yaroslavl went through an extremely tough school in the semifinals: a long series, pressure, bad stretches from Isaev, a comeback, a seventh game – and they still found a way. That experience is not about beauty, but about the ability to survive when things aren’t going well. In the final, that is gold.
Additionally, Lokomotiv has a clear script for the start: take the tempo through line changes and the neutral zone, attack the crease, win ‘dirty’ battles, and turn the match into a grind where the opponent is uncomfortable every second. There is also the factor of Radulov as an emotional engine – when a series just begins, such players know how to set the tone.
I expect a cautious but very tight first game without a scoring frenzy. Ak Bars will endure and wait for their chance, but Lokomotiv, playing at home, must start more focused and aggressive than usual. And if Yaroslavl takes the first period not by score but by control, they will find it easier to close out the game from there,” Gabdrafikov was quoted as saying by Stavka TV.
